After attending CES for the last 4 years, I thought I would share a few tips for my fellow iPhone Users, and Social Media addicts.
1. ATT’s 3G service Will Melt Down during the show. If you want to be able to recieve Calls and Text Messages during the show, I sugest turing off 3G on your iPhone during show hours. You may think that your getting good 3G service, but your calls and SMS’s will not come through.
2. If you havent already, install the app “Boxcar” on your iPhone. This will enable you to get “Push notifications” for your DMs and @replies on Twitter. This will save you time by not having to check tweetie 2 every 5 mins.
3. Foursquare! If you’re not on Foursquare… what the hell are you on? Foursquare is a location based social network for mobile phones. When you go to a physical place (restaurant, bar, CES Booth) you “check in” at that location, so your friends know where you are. The service integrates with Twitter and Facebook for posting status updates as well as for finding your existing friends on Foursquare.
All the cool geeks will be on Foursquare at CES this year…. all the suits will be talking about “this cool new fangled thing called twitter”
